Admission tickets enable access to the Citadel’s outdoor areas, the musée national de la Marine and the musée de la Compagnie des Indes.

Opening hours

September : 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Tuesdays

October to April : 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Tuesdays

May to June : 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day 

July to August : 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day 

Annual closure of the Citadel and its museums: for 4 weeks after the Christmas holidays, 25 December and 1 May.

The ticket office closes 45 minutes before the Citadel doors close.

Accessibility

Access to the site is difficult for people with reduced mobility. PMR parking is available at the entrance of the citadel. Loan of wheelchairs and walking frames.

The Citadel’s interior and exterior may not be suitable for people with visual, mental or psychological disabilities. Indoor areas are accessible to people with motor and hearing disabilities.

The Citadel’s outdoor areas are difficult to access for people with reduced mobility and people with visual impairments (slopes, paving, gravelled courtyards, grassy areas, steps etc.).

It is strongly recommended that you have somebody accompanying you.

  • Toilets and baby-changing table

    The museum has toilets and a baby-changing table in the sanitary facilities area.

  • Refreshments

    A relaxation area with drinks vending machines is available. Picnic tables are available within the citadel grounds, near the Parc à Boulets.

  • Equipment loan

    For your comfort, we offer free loan of baby carriers, pushchairs, cane seats, wheelchairs and walking frames. Please ask our reception staff.

  • Car park

    A car park is located near the citadel. A car park accessible to visitors with reduced mobility is located in front of the citadel entrance.

  • Lost property

    If you have lost something, please contact our reception staff on site.

  • Induction loop

    For hearing-impaired visitors, our reception desks (ticket office and shop) are fitted with induction loops.

  • Audio guides

    Audio guides are available in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Not included in the ticket price, supplement of €2.

Buying your ticket online guarantees you can enter at the time stated on your ticket. However, you can also buy your ticket at the ticket desk without booking in advance.
